Colors Of The Van Cortlandt Motel

In this image, I pay homage to Edward Hopper’s “Nighthawks” in terms of colorization and overall mood. It’s always so comforting to see the colorful glow of red and green neon lights with a splash of yellow, piercing through the darkness. They serve as my beacon and mile marker after exiting the Henry Hudson Parkway every night. It feels as if the motel is welcoming me back home to the neighborhood.
